19th December 2023
This weekend presented the opportunity to explore creativity through art, fashion, food and beauty, whilst also allowing me to tick another country off our bucket list. As we touched down in Faro and my husband eagerly awaited our luggage to loop around the belt, I was excited to embark on this experience — not just for this creative event, but for the resort itself, rated as one of the top luxury family-friendly hotels in Europe. Greeted by the sun glistening on the endless ocean, we arrived at Martinhal Resort. I was instantly entranced by the grandness of the resort and the warmth of the concierge.

Prince Harry & Meghan Spill the Tea on the Royal Family
8th December 2022
With Harry & Meghan, an unprecedented six-part documentary series, lighting up screens the world over on Netflix, there’s certainly no turning back for the couple and those in their close circles now. In just the first episode, truths were revealed about both Harry and Meghan’s battles from within and outside of the Royal Family, referred to at times as “The Institution.” “This is about duty and service and I feel as though being part of this family, it is my duty to uncover this exploitation and bribery that happens within our media,” he says to the camera. “This has always been so much bigger than us. No-one knows the full truth. We know the full truth. The Institution knows the full truth and the media knows the full truth, ‘cause they’ve been in on it.”

There is no doubt that this is a children’s Christmas classic, I remember watching it as a child and now I’m all grown up and taking my own two little people! After a magical walk looking at the Christmas lights, we headed to the theatre in the heart of London’s West End; full of excited children, nostalgic parents and many cuddly snowmen. The Snowman is directed by Bill Alexander and features music and lyrics by Howard Blake, including the famous song ‘Walking in the Air’, spectacular design by Ruari Murchison, magical lighting by Tim Mitchell, and amazing choreography by Robert North.

Featuring Lapland UK – where magical Christmas memories are made
21st December 2018
Their personal invitations were delivered one morning by our elf, and my sons face lit up when he was told that Father Christmas had personally invited him and his sister to help the elves finish building toys for Christmas. With just three more sleeps to go, we prepared by reading the ‘Untold Story of Father Christmas’ written by the creators of Lapland UK, to make sure that he knew all the elves he would be meeting, making the experience even more magical. Lapland UK is deep in the Whitmoor Forest, Ascot, Berkshire, a beautiful part of the Windsor Estate which is managed by the Crown Estate. It was set up by husband and wife team Alison and Mike Battle, after they felt there was no 'authentic and believable' Christmas offering for families with young children. After approaching the Forestry Commission, they set up the first incarnation of Lapland UK in Tunbridge Wells in 2007, selling 37,000 tickets despite being total 'rookies'. Spurred on by their initial success, the brand has evolved every year and sold sold 75,000 tickets in 2018.

Featuring David Williams-Ellis: “The biggest joy as an artist is to...
8th December 2014
“I absolutely adore the human figure,” exclaims David. “I want to make pieces that hit you in the pit of the stomach, that stops and arrests you.” The sculptor has certainly succeeded with this in his latest exhibition, ELEMENTAL, his first major one in London in a decade. We sit surrounded by his stunning pieces, girls who are twirling around; their bodies and movements shaped by wind and rain; stretching for something beyond sight, or comfortably enclosed within themselves. The so called “umbrella girls” lean in one direction while being safely held in the negative space around them by their umbrellas. It is a strikingly unique way of portraying female energy, their sheer beauty breathtaking. “I can tell when I'm making something good by a deep emotional feeling. I forget everything and reach a state of bliss - it's totally instinctive. I can't explain it,” says David, “other than the adrenaline high and feeling of being completely drained of energy afterwards,” he adds. David takes a few moments before carefully answering my questions.
