Opulent Luxury At The Guerlain Spa, Raffles London
Set in the grandiose building that was once Churchill’s Old War Office, The Guerlain Spa at Raffles London, offers a luxurious and serene experience, blending modern wellness with a touch of historic elegance. This is Raffles’ first opening in London and as soon as I arrived I was greeted with exceptional service. The entrance to the hotel is stunning, the large sweeping staircases draw your eyes inwards, framed by an impressive fresh flower display. The doorman personally took me down to the spa, where I was greeted with a warm smile and a very incredible reception area, which included a huge backlit ‘Guerlain’ sign bathed in gold. While I waited for a friend to arrive, I was served a refreshing herbal tea, alongside a cold towel bathed in a Guerlain perfume, and my shoes were swapped with soft white fluffy slippers. Don’t forget to look up, where you will find a gorgeous ceiling, featuring carved butterflies and delicate flowers. There is also a back-lit wall holding 16 bottles of Guerlain perfumes to test. Once my friend arrived we were shown to the spa and there really is a wow factor when you see the pool for the first time.

Enter Grey Wolfe; the private wellness club based in the West London village of Barnes. Nestled on a charming, leafy street, the space counts bustling cafes and upscale hair salons as neighbours. Stepping inside, the energy shift is palpable. Warm lighting and grey marble countertops are all part of the venues' sleek aesthetic, but there’s more than meets the eye here. Within its walls, the club houses cutting-edge equipment and treatments designed to revitalise and rejuvenate from the inside out and outside in. As I look around somewhat awestruck, Grey Wolfe’s General Manager, Carlos Urrutigoity tells me that the space is my house, and I should treat it as such. As part of the members-only appeal, the entire space belongs to the whoever has booked it, guaranteeing a level of privacy other clinics can't offer. Giddy with the realisation that the space is all mine for the next few hours, I take a breath and surrender to the experience.
