The Ultimate Wedding Gift Guide
16th June 2023
Wedding gifts are a significant part of wedding culture, and in many cultures is how guests share their blessings and good wishes to the happy couple. Traditionally, wedding registries were set up for couples who would be moving into their first home together shortly after the nuptials, But now with some couples cohabiting long before they say ‘I do,’ we can no longer count on the newlyweds to tell us what they want. As a rule of thumb, even when a registry is not in place, guests are typically expected to bring a gift; often which at least covers the approximate ‘cost per head’ for the couple [unless the wedding invitation specifically requests gifts in another form like a charity donation]. The importance and expectations surrounding wedding gifts can vary across different cultures and social circles. Some cultures place a greater emphasis on elaborate or expensive gifts, while others prioritise the sentiment behind the gift rather than its value. Regardless of whether you’re known for being a great gift-giver or are usually the person to write their name on the card, we’ve put together a list of some of our favourite wedding-appropriate gifts, no matter your budget.

Review of Globe Trotter - Luxury travel essentials
30th June 2022
What you have by your side and what you choose to trundle is vital for the image and if you want to give the right impression. ''Travelware-upmanship'' is a game all travellers play. Travellers are brand conscious. They are as loyal to their luggage brand as the car they choose to drive and airline they choose to fly by. It matters what wheels they choose to have under them. “My seat in Business Class on a plane to a very important meeting is waiting”, “I am on my way to an extended and very luxurious vacation that few people could ever afford” and “ I buy my carry on in Mayfair” are impressions we all like to create. It starts in the airport car park when we take longer than necessary unpacking so everyone can admire our super lightweight, bought from London’s Burlington Arcade Globe Trotter four-wheel spinner grey/caramel new check-in case which screams “ Just out!”

Making waves: Meet Georgia Thompson, founder of swimwear...
9th June 2017
After 10 years of working for different companies, Georgia Thompson bit the bullet and decided to create Evarae - a luxury resort wear brand where she had the freedom to be creative once again and be able to travel the world whilst working. The move into swimwear felt natural for Georgia, as she’d spent summers as a child on board her father's boat called Evarae - the namesake for her brand - as well as travelling the world with her stepfather, helping him hunt for inspiration for his yacht company. The entrepreneur tells us that due to her “childhood spent by the sea travelling, resort and swimwear has always felt natural.” As a child, Thompson had an au pair who studied at the esteemed St Martin’s Fashion College, and it was then, after watching her sit and sketch, that she decided designing was what she wanted to do in the future years. Evarae’s SS17 range features a line of pieces that instantly become classics - from two-piece bikinis to one-pieces, Georgia tells us that her favourite piece is the ‘Seona One Piece’ in a gorgeous dark blue silky Italian fabric.

Vertu For Bentley phone debuts At Goodwood And Pebble beach
26th June 2015
The latest release is ‘Signature for Bentley’ which has been designed with Bentley’s Mulsanne Speed in mind. Why the Mulsanne Speed I hear you ask? Vertu’s Signature is a delicate slim mobile phone with a carbon fibre pillow and if you are fortunate enough to have driven or seen the Mulsanne Speed, it’ll be obvious that the model has a similar carbon weave design pattern. The stainless steel sides of the phone are also reminiscent of the control knobs on the luxury car and the Beluga Black calf leather casing gives it an extra layer of exceptional quality. The range will be on display at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed which takes place from the 25th to the 28th of June and the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance in August.
