The Luxury Lexus LBX SUV

Is the Lexus LBX a luxury SUV?
The Japanese marque labels the model as a Crossover with LBX, meaning Lexus Breakthrough Crossover. Jeremy Webb discovered that it is a compact and luxurious car while he was lollygagging carefree on the country lanes of the Surrey Hills.

Delightful To Drive The DS 4
28th December 2024
DS Automobiles is a luxury French manufacturer whose name is synonymous with artistic creations that take cues from the fashion world. The cars turn heads like supermodels do on a catwalk, and Jeremy Webb discovered this while driving the delightful DS 4. The DS4 is classified as an SUV, and after driving it for a week, I would say it meets all the requirements. It is practical, sporty, and has good engine performance. The DS4 also gives you a luxurious feel inside and out, with lovely features, comfort, styling and technology. The DS 4 has many rivals in the family SUV sector, such as the Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40, BMW X2 and Cupra Formentor coupé SUVs. So it has to do a lot to beat these, and I drove it hard to find out if it could.

BMW M4 Competition With M xDrive
26th December 2024
I had the pleasure of driving it, weaving myself in and out of the tapestry of B roads that make up the Hampshire/West Sussex border. It was a thrilling week of driving, leaving me yearning for permanent ownership. You know those days when everything clicks and flows, so you feel great? I never get these days, but when the BMW M4 Competition arrived and I opened the door, I was exhilarated, and my day immediately improved. I had this feeling the entire duration I had the car, and it has been quite some time since a vehicle has made me feel this way. Driving has become pretty mundane with all the lowering of speed limits, traffic jams, bland cars, and the lowering of driving ability among the public.

The Skoda Superb Hatchback Lives Up To Its Name
18th December 2024
Jeremy and Isaac took the car across the South East of England, covering all types of roads, from motorways to the twisties of the Kent countryside. The Skoda Superb Hatchback is available in two petrol and one diesel engine versions. The petrol option is a 148bhp 1.5-litre unit badged TSI 150 with mild-hybrid to boost performance and efficiency. Although you must push it harder to deliver top performance, it doesn’t lack power. The 0-62mph time of 9.2 seconds for a family-orientated vehicle doesn’t feel laboured. The engine is linked to a seven-speed DSG auto gearbox, which doesn’t allow you to pull away with any rapidness, which Isaac disliked. But once you start motoring, it goes through the gears smoothly, and when you put your foot down, the box will drop down the gear to accelerate you at a reasonable rate.

Fifty Years Of The Volkswagen Golf, And It Is Still Glorious
12th December 2024
In 1974, VW launched the Golf hatchback as a small, practical, reliable family car, and after fifty years of production, it has undoubtedly met its goals. I took the Golf Match 1.5 eTSI 150 PS 7-spd DSG version out on review, covering the far southeast motorways. These led me to Canterbury and the stunning countryside of Kent. The county has fabulous back roads, perfect for the VW Golf's impressive handling. The VW Golf has also kept its looks, which is fabulous for a fifty-year-old. Although it has had some cosmetic enhancements, you can still see through to the original MK 1, which launched in 1974. It holds its own with more luxurious cars like the Mercedes A-Class and BMW 1 series, and driving-wise The 2024 Volkswagen Golf is the MK8 variation of the hugely successful car that epitomises the Hatchback genre. It was and still is desirable, and yes, as a 17-year-old, I yearned for the GTi, but equally, the 1.5 eTSI is a car I would own now that I am middle-aged.
