Featuring The Galaxy Yacht for Monaco Yacht Show 2022
22nd September 2022
Since 1991, the Monaco Yacht Show has been committed to promoting creative excellence in the world of superyachting, granting few the privilege of visiting a spectacular exhibition of the world's most luxurious (and expensive) superyachts. Held in Port Hercules, Monaco Yacht Show is Europe's biggest in-water display of large yachts; a sumptuous display of wealth, craftsmanship & expertise. The Galaxy superyacht is the epitome of what the Monaco Yacht Show represents: stylish, luxurious and chic. After undergoing a severe transformation, Galaxy is no longer just another white Superyacht gracing the ocean along the french riviera. Described by Njord by Bergman as, "a destination, a marvel that touches all your body's senses and excites and embraces you with its energy each step you take onboard", this beautiful superyacht is certainly a sight for sore eyes.

In Defence of Private Jets: The Truth About Luxury Charters
20th September 2022
On the evening of Saturday 10th September, embassies worldwide received a private document advising leaders, where possible, to board commercial flights to the UK for the Queen’s State Funeral. Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, said he would be attending the service in his official jet. This follows months of increasing outcry on social media over the use of private jets by A-list celebrities, such as Oprah Winfrey and Taylor Swift, who’ve allegedly racked up 68 and 170 trips this year, respectively. However, the fact of the matter is, private jet charters have experienced an unprecedented growth which the industry expects to continue, and not just thanks to celebrities and world leaders. Here, Andy Christie, Director of Private Jets at Air Charter Service, shares the industry growth they’ve experienced from momentum gained at the start of the global pandemic.

12th September 2022
Designed by the legendary Anouska Hempel, the Monsieur George is an emerald-tinged jewel in the eight arrondissement. The hotel was named after George Washington, America’s first-president and the namesake of one of Paris’ most iconic Haussmann-designed streets, and appropriately so.
Women Who Launch: Li Boatwright & Storrington PR
7th September 2022
“Absolutely Fabulous first aired in 1992. I was 13 and didn’t have a television in my bedroom so I had to beg my mother to let me stay up and watch it. After the first few episodes, I knew I wanted to work in PR!” exclaims Li Boatwright, Founder of UK-based luxury agency Storrington PR. Fast forward and that 13-year-old girl now has an impressive list of clients under her belt such as iconic Mayfair restaurants Wiltons and Franco’s, the Croatian Relais & Châteaux property Maslina Resort, and the five-star Cora Cora Maldives among others. Boatwright says it was during a backpacking trip around Thailand at age 19 when her interest to work in the travel industry was ignited. Whilst staying at the Jolly Frog Inn in Kanchanaburi, she was told by the housekeeper to keep the door between the bathroom and bedroom closed at all times or else she risked rats entering her room.

Featuring The Luxury Gent Features The Ultimate Bikes and Cycling...
2nd September 2022
Having owned many road bikes, mountain bikes, commuters, and everything in-between, as a keen cyclist for the last 20 years, I’ve watched with curiosity, amusement, and perhaps even disdain, at the coming of the “e-bike”. When the first examples hit the market, they were expensive, heavy, short-ranged, and sucked up some of your power in each pedal stroke when they weren’t contributing, in short, they barely overcome their own burden. Such has been the inexorable march of technological improvement though, that a watershed moment has been reached. As a purist and fanatic, I was a tough crowd for an e-bike, but my head has been well and truly turned by the bikes that follow, and though initially, I included them benevolently, more for completion than anything else, they turned out to be so good, and so fun, that for sure, my next bike is an e-bike.

Featuring Polo’s most prolific philanthropist Nic Roldan, sits down...
23rd September 2017
We caught up with the champion polo player to discuss the highs and lows of playing polo professionally and the impact it has on family life, as well as getting Nic’s best tips for polo amateurs. Growing up on a farm with horses is what inspired Nic Roldan to get into polo, and claims that his father being a polo player isn’t the main reason he got into the sport, he always had an interest in the speed and intensity of the game along with his love for horses. Being a professional sportsman can be stressful for anyone, but ‘polo has more highs than lows’ as Nic gets to play the sport he loves and is around horses constantly, all whilst travelling the world and visiting beautiful countries. According to Nic, the lows are ‘the same as any sport, it’s a very cut throat, competitive and intense sport.’ The sport also requires a huge amount of investment in the horses which can be incredibly stressful and unlike most other sports. However ‘it is tough to say there are any other lows when you get to do what you love to do as a career, what could be better?’

For your next private function or wedding, experience...
23rd September 2015
The Sybarite has had the pleasure of visiting this stately residence and we are giving it the grand OK for those looking to host a private function or wedding in France that offers convenience, beauty and exclusivity. Chateau Bouffemont is the ideal place for a “homely” wedding ceremony where guests are able to mingle and hold intimate conversations in an atmosphere that provides the 5- star touch yet shows no signs of unpretentiousness. The Chateau has undergone a complete refurbishment after being bought from its new proprietor in 2012 – the theme is chic and elegant. Imagine, Tiffany coloured walls, wooden floors; gorgeous verandah overlooking the landscaped gardens, a magnificent staircase, private elevator and ten magical suites. We feel that the interior design of the Chateau combines both a masculine and feminine touch, as if its proprietors were a couple – you can certainly feel the male-touch in one of its five reception halls decked out with leather arm chairs and a fireplace, whereas the main hall hangs a large ornate chandelier with walls coloured in a sort of Tiffany turquoise green. It is by all means, a setting that is great for photo taking.
Featuring Explore Europe’s ‘off the beaten track’ waterways aboard...
16th September 2015
It is rather fascinating with so many waterways to be discovered – through the vineyards of Burgundy, the historic Po Valley in Italy to the Caledonian Canal in Scotland and the more open waters of Loch Ness, cruising along Europe’s waterways is one adventure to add to that bucket list – we think. The best way to explore Europe’s waterways is of course a gentle cruise on a hotel barge; one that is replete with perfectly adorned suites and a well-rounded crew. European Waterways has been pioneering hotel barges for nearly 40 years and currently has a fleet of hotel barges to suit different passengers – an example is the Hotel Barge Finesse, a luxury double-decker hotel barge that is currently being commissioned. The Finesse offers room for 8 passengers in four spacious twin or double-bedded suites with air-conditioning and private shower rooms to match. “She will also boast a large saloon with panoramic windows and a demonstration galley where guests can watch their chef preparing delicious gourmet meals”. Cruising for the Finesse will begin from May 2016 travelling through River Saone and Southern Burgundy where one can discover its vineyards.
Featuring Emirates takes to new heights
15th September 2015
It will be the “world's longest non-stop flight and the only one to offer First Class service” The Dubai based airline will commence its first non-stop flight from Dubai to Panama City come 1st February 2016 and will take approximately 17 hours and 35 minutes. Our question is, how does one keep themselves entertained on a 17-hour flight? Well, forget about popping those sleeping pills, as the airliner is one of the world’s longest-range jetliner - Boeing 777-200LR, capable of flying 10,817 miles and can even carry up to 15 tonnes of cargo. The flight will outstrip Qantas as being the longest overhaul flight, which flew from Sydney to Dallas. This will be an experience in itself. The flight is also going to prove a great connector to Central America, especially for travellers leaving from Dubai and heading onto the Caribbean to the northern parts of South America.
Featuring For the tourist-goer this is not for you – Bali’s best...
14th September 2015
Located off the beaten track, crossing many a rice fields, small villages and lakes you could not imagine that a resort would be this remote. Once the car reaches the inclined hill, you find yourself atop a historical village greeted by the sounds of xylophone music, the smell of fresh air and a view that has you deeply exhaling that tension away. It is quite an experience for the Bali holiday goer as there aren’t too many guests either. It feels private and quite frankly, it feels wonderful. In short, it is a true find. The aim for the Puri Sebatu Resort is to offer its guests a place of tranquility and respite from the many tourists who often holiday in Bali. That is why its location is rather difficult to find but The Sybarite promises you that upon reaching, one will find that this is a truly special escape. Its design “incorporates traditional Balinese architecture. Guests are surrounded by the textures and color of nature, dressed slate, terracotta floor, smooth unpainted wood, soft homespun fabrics, intricate worked copper, fragrant alang-alang grass roofing, natural bamboo, rough cut stone, flowers and foliage”

9th September 2015
It is dedication that has led to the expansion of the Peninsula Hotel with chains across Hong Kong, its original “birth place”, Shanghai, Beijing, Manila, Tokyo to New York, Beverly Hills, Chicago and recently, the first of its kind in Europe, Paris. In an exclusive interview with Peninsula Paris’ Hotel Manager Vincent Pimont, The Sybarite gets a first glance at this modern day palace to discover what makes this gem so gratifyingly memorable and how it is able to carry the spirit wherever it sets up – be it Tokyo, New York or Paris, ultimately leaving guests with the ‘Peninsula experience’ imprinted in their sensory world.
